Club Policies


  1. No member shall be eligible to win any competition or prize until his dues are paid in full.


  2. The club is governed by an elected executive serving two year terms, Captain, Co-Captain, Treasurer, Webmaster, Fixtures chair, Handicap chair, Starter and  Entertainment chair.


  3. Membership $200.00 includes a nice golf shirt with the English Bay Golf Club insignia, RCGA registered handicap and flat rates for every game of $70.00.


  4. You must advise the English Bay Golf Club starter 5 days in advance if you are not playing, or you may have to cover the costs if the club is charged by the golf course.


  5. Every player must submit their score to the starter at the end of all EBGC events attested by a player in your group.


  6. Dress code – Jeans, T-shirts without collars and cut-off shorts are not permitted. Most courses played have a dress code policy in place.


  7. Guests are welcome subject to availability. Guests must pay the going course rate but not less than the EBGC weekly rate.


  8. Reimbursement Rule: Max. $100.00 dollars will be returned to a player leaving the club prior to June 31 of a season. No funds will be redeemed after July 1 of any season.


  9. Members must enter all scores from all rounds played including those played outside of the Club.


  10. Members must calculate their Adjusted Gross Score prior to entering it into the RCGA website.


  11. Members not entering all previous game scores into the RCGA website prior to any EBGC event will be ineligible to use their index/handicap adjustment for net scoring. They will be awarded a 0.0 course handicap for that event.


  12. All rounds played within the English Bay Golf Club and registered tournament rounds played outside the club need to be entered into the RCGA website as tournament (T) scores.


  13. Email is used for booking attendance, it is delivered with a starter sheet attached showing the group your playing with each round.


  14. Your position on the starter sheet correlates to how you finished the previous round. Finish 1st and your in the first group next round. Miss a round or play poorly and your in one of the last groups.


  15. Our schedule includes 4 "major rounds" Masters, US Open, British Open and PGA. Trophies are awarded for these rounds and they are scheduled near the PGA dates. Trophies are marked with your name and kept by the player until the following year.


  16. Points are awarded every round for the top three NET scores including ties. 1st (10), 2nd (5), 3rd (2). 


  17. Points are accumulated throughout the season and the player with the most points after the final round near the end of September will be the Club Champion. There is also a Club Champion trophy that is kept by the champion until the following year.


  18. Points also earn you a discount on club dues the following year. The per-point value varies year to year depending on the total amount of players and points awarded, as ties do count. Approx. $2.50 per point.


  19. We play KP's on every par 3 on every course, this is an optional choice and the cost is $10.00.

  21. Most years, a BBQ is semi-hosted by the club after one of the rounds in the summer.


  22. You are also welcome to join us for the Year End wrap-up trip. This trip is usually booked for the following weekend after the season ends, near the end of September.
